Happy Wednesday loves, I hope you all have had a wonderful week so far. My week has been an interesting so far, but I’ll save those details for another post. With holiday entertaining just around the corner (Thanksgiving will be here sooner than you know) you maybe be thinking about how to accommodate your dinner guests. If this is a topic that is on your mind, it’s time to start thinking about entertaining and whether or not your dining room still works for the gathering you are envisioning. I’m partnering with The Home Depot once again to help you get your dining room together just in time to entertain in style this holiday season. If you have other rooms such as your living room or bedroom you want to update before welcoming guests over the next few months, check out other room update ideas I’ve done with the beautiful home furnishing and accents from Home Depot on this post and this post.
When it comes to choosing a dining room table, you want to make sure that it works for how you live and the space that it will be in.
A ROUND TABLE FOR EXAMPLE:
Is ideal for a dining room that is more square and quite frankly a beautiful alternative for an open concept home. A round table allows for more people to fit into a square space comfortably while getting in and out of the seating. There is nothing worse than your guests feeling like they are stuffed sardines in a can. It’s also a great table shape for conversing with your guests on an intimate level. No need to talk to someone waaaaay down there if yo get my drift.
A RECTANGLE DINING TABLE FOR EXAMPLE:
Is ideal for a dining room that is longer one way compared to another. A round table would be to bulky, cumbersome and in a more oblong space like this, esthetically won’t feel/look right. You want your dining table to fill the space equally So a rectangle table is the ideal fit.
As you can see, above, I’ve designed a pretty Farmhouse Chic dining room. You will see how both rooms come together beautifully. The only difference is the round dining table vs. a rectangle one. As you can see, you can achieve a well put together dining room regardless of what style dining room table you choose. Don’t be afraid to try something different, step outside your comfort zone, as long as the table fits your space functionality wise.
I really love how beautiful the farmhouse/refined rustic decor selection is at The Home Depot. There are so many options for any style, space and budget. If you haven’t taken a look at the home decor offerings at The Home Depot, take some time to do just that. I promise you will be sure to use them as a future resource when looking for new furniture and decor.
